Snow/sleet accumulation of 2 inches by 8 AM here in Granite Falls, just NW of Hickory in Caldwell County. It seems to have changed to a freezing rain/sleet mix lately. The temperature has held at 31.8 for the past 1.5 hours. Looks like we're stuck with frz rain/rain for the rest of the day now. I'm hoping for some snow on Saturday morning, but Grandfather mountain usually causes any precipitation coming from the west to skip right over us.
3+inches now in Eden, despite the brighter echoes on radar it's been all snow as of 8:40.
Thanks for the reports!!
Temp finally moved above 32 at 10 AM. It's currently 32.1 and just nasty outside. The snow that originally fell is now getting compacted as it absorbs the rain.
