A cold front is nearing the region today, and it will stall out this weekend over Georgia and South Carolina. The result will be cooler temps this weekend along with some shower and storm chances.
As a cold front slides through the region today, we will have the chance of a few showers and storms. Highs will be in the mid 80s for most.
Some drier air will temporarily arrive behind that front tonight and tomorrow. Our Thursday will feature lots of sun, highs in the upper 80s, and low levels of humidity.
Our next cold front will then quickly approach late Friday. It appears that next front will stall out a little south of the area, allowing some cooler temps to arrive. However, due to the close proximity of the front, the weekend looks to feature a good deal of clouds and some occasional showers and storms.
Here is today's edition of the video..... give it a look:
A cold front is approaching, and that front will kick off some scattered showers and storms, especially this afternoon and evening. Highs will head toward the upper 80s with some low 90s today.
A few showers and storms could linger tomorrow, and then Thursday looks dry.
A pretty deep trough for this time of year will swing into the eastern US this weekend. This trough will drive a cold front through our area Saturday. Out ahead and near the front, shower and storm chances will return later Friday and Saturday. Following the front, some cooler and drier air will try to settle in for early next week.
After some delightful Sunday weather across the region, the weather today will also be pretty nice, albeit a little warmer than yesterday. Highs will top out in the upper 80s and lower 90s under a partly cloudy sky. Although a few isolated shower or storms can't be ruled out, most spots in the piedmont and foothills should remain dry.
A cold front will swing in from the west tomorrow and bring much better chances of some afternoon and evening showers and storms.
Another system will then arrive and bring more storm chances for Friday and especially Saturday.
Tropics...
No active systems at the moment. There are lots of areas of dry air in parts of the Atlantic Basin, and that is one of the reason tropical systems are having a hard time at the moment. See the video for more...
