Here is today's edition of the Carolina Weather Video.....
It will be warmer today across the region compared to yesterday. Highs will top out in the upper 80s and lower 90s in many spots, and a few showers and storms will remain possible.
Highs tomorrow into the weekend look to be in the low to some mid 90s. Only a few isolated storms tomorrow, but some better scattered storm chances return for Friday and the weekend.
It looks fairly unsettled Sunday and Monday as another front approaches, and then we will see whether or not that front and slip to the south by Tuesday or so.
Tropics...
Our tropical wave out in the Atlantic has not gotten a lot better organized since yesterday. However, it still has a decent chance of becoming our next classified tropical system.
This system will wind up in the Caribbean Sea this weekend, and I will continue to keep an eye on it.
Here is the spaghetti chart for the system this morning...
A lot of our highs will be in the 80s today, and as a disturbance approaches from the Tennessee Valley, the chance of some showers and storms will be with us. It's a challenging forecast today....a lot of the showers and storms might stay south and west of much of NC, but we will see.
Heat will slowly build later this week with highs back in the low and mid 90s.
Tropics...
Keeping an eye on a tropical wave in the southern Atlantic. This wave could slowly organize, and the computer guidance takes the system near the northern Caribbean down the road. Here's the spaghetti chart this morning:
A lot of Piedmont locations will fail to hit 90 degrees today and tomorrow. Not bad. A few showers and storms will remain possible with a greater coverage of storms on the way tomorrow and Wednesday.
The heat slowly builds again later this week.....but nothing too extreme.
