530 PM EDT FOR MECKLENBURG COUNTY...
AT 456 PM EDT RADAR AND AUTOMATED GAGES ESTIMATED THAT AROUND TWO
INCHES OF RAIN HAD FALLEN OVER THE CHARLOTTE METRO AREA...WITH THE
HEAVIEST RAIN HAVING FALLEN BETWEEN SOUTHPARK AND EASTLAND MALLS.
SPOTTERS REPORT THAT WATER IS UP TO TWO FEET DEEP IN SPOTS IN THIS
AREA.
WHILE THE HEAVY RAIN HAS ENDED...AREAS OF URBAN FLOODING IN POOR
DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW SPOTS WILL CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 30 MINUTES.
FALLEN TREES AND LARGE LIMBS WILL COMPLICATE TRAVEL PROBLEMS IN THIS
AREA.
RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ELEVATED LEVELS ON SMALL CREEKS
AND STREAMS...AND PONDING OF WATER IN URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...
