Lightning Story
Well, a couple of days off went a long way in re-charging the batteries. I am back in the saddle again this evening for the Triad market.
Enjoy the nice break from the heat and humidity for the next couple of days. I will be downright pleasant tomorrow with highs in the 80s and low humidity values. Soak it up because the heat will surge back next work week with highs well into the 90s and very muggy conditions.
Busy times on the homefront. This is Vacation Bible School week at our church. My wife is volunteering, and all three of our kids are going. Then in the afternoons my wife has been babysitting a couple of kids for some folks who are out of town. Yesterday afternoon, a couple of the kids in the neighborhood came over as well, and I believe we had 6 kids in the house at one time....the oldest of which is 6 years old! T-ball season has started up as of this week, and we had practice Monday evening. We will be out of state twice during the course of the next month. Whew...when did summers get busier than the rest of the year? But, I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Well, I guess that is about all for now. Take the coffee outside tomorrow morning if you get the chance...you don't get many mornings that in summer!
My Bulldogs lost to Louisville this afternoon, eliminating them from the College World Series. Sad to see it happen, but it has been a fun run this year. Good guys on that team.
And, I am ready for an off day. After 8 hours or live weather hits Wednesday, 5 hours Thursday, both Charlotte and Triad market duties Friday evening, 4 hours of live hits Saturday plus more live hits in the wee hours of Sunday morning, then a full Charlotte evening shift today, I am beat. It has been a full week, and I am ready for a break. Don't get me wrong...I am happy we have the ability to bring you severe weather coverage like no other station in the market, and I feel honored with the privilege of bringing that coverage to you. But, it is tiring pulling those long hours and shifts, and off days tomorrow and Tuesday are a welcome thing.
Everyone have a great week. I will blog at you sometime Wednesday if not before.
