Sunshine returns....patchy frost possible tonight...

Here is today's edition of the video...give it a look.

Rain will exit the region this morning and give way to lots of sunshine later today with highs in the 60s.

We are set up for a pretty chilly night tonight with lows in the 30s across much of the region. Conditions look favorable for at least a chance of some patchy frost in some spots, so you might want to cover up your plants tonight to be on the safe side.

Beautiful weather will unfold over the next few days with comfortable afternoon and cool mornings. Still looks like you will need the jackets for outdoor sunrise services Sunday morning with some low and mid 40s under a mainly clear sky.

Another push of cooler air will arrive for the middle of next week, so we might have another run-in with a potential frost in some spots. Right now, it looks like our next significant rain will occur around next Friday.

I hope everybody has a safe, blessed, and wonderful Easter weekend.

Cooler temps...

Here is today's edition of the video....give it a look....

Temps will just hover somewhere in the 60s for most in the region today.....obviously much cooler then the 80s we had for highs yesterday. Some showers will also be a possibility from time to time.

An area of low pressure, currently in Arkansas, will move to our south tonight. This low should spread a shield of rain into the region tonight that will then exit tomorrow morning. This will be one of those deals where the farther south you are in the region, the more rain there will be. Areas around the Virginia border might not see much rain tonight at all.

Easter weekend continues to look very nice with chilly mornings and comfortable afternoons.

It still looks like we will have some fairly chilly air to contend with next week. In fact, many in the region could have several morning with some lows in the 30s, so we will be watching for potential frost issues.

Warm with scattered storms today.... much cooler tomorrow...

Some amazing images from around the DFW metroplex yesterday as a significant tornado outbreak occurred.

Here is today's video....lots to discuss.

Around here, we will have a warm day ahead of an advancing cold front with highs in the low to mid 80s. Scattered storms will fire this afternoon and evening, and some damaging winds are possible.

It will be much cooler by tomorrow with daytime highs in the upper 50s to low and mid 60s.....maybe even some falling temps tomorrow afternoon. Rain will be a possibility, and our heaviest period of rain with that incoming storm system will likely be tomorrow night into Friday morning.

Easter weekend looks fantastic with chilly mornings but lots of sun and pleasant afternoon temps.

Still looks like a decent shot of chilly air Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

Mild today, warm tomorrow, but big changes coming....

Here is today's edition of the Carolina Weather Video...

Highs today will head up into the 70s for most in the region under a partly sunny sky. Some mountain storms will form this afternoon, and some of those storms will drift into the foothills and Piedmont this evening.

Tomorrow will be warm with some highs topping 80 for most in the region. As a front approaches from the north, I expect some scattered afternoon and evening showers and storms.

Big changes...

Much cooler air will spill into the region behind that front by Thursday. Thursday looks like a day with clouds and showers at times with highs only in the lower 60s in many places.

Friday could be even cooler with clouds, at least some morning showers, and lots of foothill and Piedmont highs in the 50s.

Morning lows will drop into the lower 40s Saturday and likely Easter Sunday morning with some of the normally cooler spots possible seeing some upper 30s. Highs Saturday will be in the 60s with some lower 70s Sunday. Very nice.

Next week...

See the video for more, but looks like a pretty good shot of chilly air around the middle of next week.

Some weather changes this week....

>> Monday, April 02, 2012

We have a 'back-door' cold front sliding through from north to south this morning. That has brought a band of showers and some embedded storms to parts of the region.

That front will stall out in southern SC arcing up into eastern Kentucky. Along that front, some scattered showers will be possible this afternoon and tomorrow, but for much of NC outside of the mountains, this afternoon and tomorrow look dry.

There will be a big spread in temps this afternoon with places such as Elizabeth City having highs in the 60s while Charlotte could hit the lower 80s.

Another front will move through by Wednesday night with some showers and storms ahead of it. Then behind it, look for a cold air damming type of set up for Thursday and Friday. It will be much cooler in the CAD areas, but how cool will depend on how much shower activity each day features. It is possible some spots could remain in the 50s all day Friday if there are enough clouds and some showers.

Saturday and Easter Sunday look fantastic with tons of sun and comfortable afternoon temps. However, it will be a little chilly in the morning, and temps for sunrise services Sunday morning could be in the upper 30s to mid 40s in many spots.
