Showers rolling in today...
>> Tuesday, March 15, 2011
**I am away from the weather office today, so no video.**
However, I wanted to put up a quick post hitting the highlights for you. Our next system is rolling in, and rain will continue to spread in from the west. It will be a chilly day along the I-85 corridor with highs at most in the low to mid 50s. I still anticipate some spots staying in the upper 40s, especially in the northwest Piedmont and foothills.
Showers will end later this evening. Total rain amounts should be between 0.25" and 0.75" on the upper end. So, nothing huge, but hopefully enough to wet things down nicely again.
After this system departs, another big-time warming trend will settle in. As soon as tomorrow, highs will warm well into the 60s. 70s returns Thursday, and I still expect upper 70s and even some lower 80s Friday.

Matthew,
After this warm up towards end of this week, is it going to stay warm or would it turn cooler next week?
It will get very cold over the Lakes and Northeast behind the mid-week system next week....how far south the cold makes it is still a valid question.
