Severe Weather Potential Tonight...
>> Saturday, April 14, 2007
We will be keeping a close eye on how things evolve through the day and evening. A strong storm system will plow through the Carolinas tonight. One thing looks fairly certain...we will see lots of rain. My initial thoughts are that the area (Charlotte region) will see at least between 1-2 inches of rain. We will take it.
As far as severe weather is concerned, it will depend on how much our airmass destabilizes this evening in advance of the cold front. I do think we have the potential for some strong to severe strorms, mainly along and to the south and east of I-85. Strong winds, hail, and possibly a tornado or two will be possible of things line up correctly tonight.
I will be holding down the evening shift for the Charlotte market. We will have you covered on News 14 Carolina. Stay tuned...
