7pm Update...
>> Saturday, April 14, 2007
Scattered showers and storms fired over the past couple of hours as the warm front lifted through the area. Dewpoints continue to climb, and at the 7:00 hour, Gastonia's dp was up to 58, Shelby was at 55, and Clover, Monroe, Wadesboro, and Rockinghamm all were at 54. So, the atmosphere continues to gradually moisten up and destabilize.
Lots of rain is falling in the mountains, and as that moves in it will have a stabilizing effect on the atmosphere. However, we have to keep in mind that we are still several hours away from what I believe is the beginning of our best window of opportunity for severe weather. So, things need to continue to be monitored closely.
