Warm with scattered storms...
>> Friday, May 08, 2009
Above is today's edition of the Carolina Weather Video.
It will feel like summertime today and tomorrow with highs in the mid to upper 80s...some spots might even hit 90.
There are a couple of disturbances on the maps this morning...one in Kentucky and Tennessee and one back in the Plains. The exact timing and track of these disturbances is tricky, but generally speaking, I expect scattered showers and storms this afternoon and this evening.
Some storms today could again be strong to severe....looks like damaging winds and large hail will be the main risks today.
A cold front will drop in here tomorrow and again bring the risk of scattered showers and storms for our Saturday afternoon. And once again, some of the storms could be on the strong side.
However, that front will push to our south by Mother's Day and usher in a change to cooler and quieter weather. Sunday and Monday will feature lots of clouds at times with highs in the 70s. A few showers are possible, especially later Sunday into Monday morning.
The weather looks delightful Tuesday through Thursday next week with highs in the 70s and lots of sun. Low temps still look to drop into the 40s Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms out there. You are the ones that keep the world turning.
