More showers and storms...

Above is today's edition of the Carolina Weather Video. Give it a watch....

We remain in an unsettled weather pattern. The Carolinas saw some showers and storms overnight, and more showers and storms are on the way as a series of disturbances rolls through the southern US.

In this type of pattern, it is very tough to nail down the specifics and timing of the shower and storm chances. However, it looks like we will see a round of showers and storms move through later this afternoon into this evening with somewhat of a lull in many spots later tonight.

Tomorrow, another disturbance will bring a round of showers and storms to the region before quieter weather arrives for Thursday and Friday.

Just like we have seen for the past few days, some storms could grow strong to severe today through tomorrow. Damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are the primary risks.

Have a reliable way of hearing weather watches and warnings, and keep it tuned to News 14 Carolina on television.

The Mother's Day weekend forecast is a bit tricky. Some of the latest modeling is indicating a shower and storm chance later Saturday and on Sunday. For this morning's forecast package, I have mentioned a chance of showers and storms for Saturday but not Sunday, but be aware that portion of the forecast will continue to be refined.

Note I have added a feed of the products issued from the GSP and Raleigh National Weather Service offices in the right side column.
