The heat is slowly backing down with highs today in the lower to mid 90s....an improvement over the upper 90s to lower 100 we had been seeing.

Tough call with the precip chances today. On the air, I am mentioning scattered showers and storms late this afternoon and especially this evening. But confidence is not high on exactly how much in the way of showers and storms we will see, and it may very well be evening time before any showers or storm form.

The next front is due in here late Saturday into Sunday, bringing some showers and storms. Then another front will likely move through Monday night or Tuesday. Beginning Saturday, highs will likely be in the 80s for most, with the most pleasant airmass likely reserved for mid-week next week.

Thanks to ANON for posting this in the comments section...here is the views from inside the bank (see the post below) as the tornado hit...

What do you think of forecasts of a major troughy pattern change in the East next week?

I think all looks good to see a nice trough develop in the eastern US mid to late next week...should bring us a nice airmass for a few days. The muggies will inevitably return, but a nice breath of fresh air looks to be on the way.
