Cold front still approaching the area, but the atmosphere has been greatly stabilized for the Charlotte viewing region. The best instability is now confined to the eastern part of the state ahead of a large gust front....you could see that large gust front, or outflow boundary, clearly on the Raleigh NEXRAD site this evening. So, I anticipate showers continuing tonight, and a few storms could also be involved. But I don't think we will see any big severe weather problems in the Charlotte region.

Drier air will work in as Father's Day unfolds, and that will shift the best zone for showers and storms to the southeast with time.....
