Beautiful stuff out there this morning....there was a nice nip in the air, and it sure felt refreshing. Boone got down into the mid 40s!
Weekend will be great with lots of sun, lows in the mid to upper 50s, and highs in the low to mid 80s. Humidity values will be pleasant as well.
Sharp cold front moves through Tuesday. Some strong storms could be involved, and we will watch that potential as it approaches. Behind that front, a nice shot of cooler air pushes in with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. I still think some communities could dip into the upper 40s by the end of next week!
In the tropics, Gordon continues to weaken as it moves across progressively cooler waters and will not threaten land.
Helene is getting better organized in terms of its structure, and we should see the system strengthen through early next work week. The most likely scenario remains that it will re-curve, but the NOGAPS model actually shows a bend back toward the west next week. So, the re-curve idea is certainly not set in stone.
