Huge changes

A big-time weather change is underway around the region. A cold front is making its way through the Carolinas today, and as that occurs, some showers will remain possible from time to time. A few rumbles of thunder are also possible, but I do no anticipate any severe weather issues.
Temperatures will hold steady for a large portion of the day and then begin to fall later this afternoon. Overnight, a wedge will set up shop with overnight temperatures in the 40s.
A very chilly, damp day is on tap Wednesday. Look for clouds, some light rain and drizzle, and piedmont temperatures struggling to even make it out of the 40s.
Thursday and Friday will be a touch milder, but still below average, in the high temp department. But then, get ready for the coldest air thus far this season Friday night into the weekend.
I expect many lows Saturday morning to dip into the 20s in the piedmont. Saturday will feature full sun, but in spite of that, highs will struggle to hit 50 or so in many areas. Another sub-freezing morning is then on the way Sunday morning.
Bundle up!
