Beryl sending rain into the region...

>> Tuesday, May 29, 2012

Tropical Depression Beryl will continue to lift northeast from south Georgia and up into the eastern Carolinas through tomorrow. Widespread rain totals of 2-3+" are possible through the eastern Carolinas, while almost everybody in the region should see at least some rain. Some rain totals have exceeded a foot in parts of northern Florida with Beryl. For the Piedmont, look for scattered showers and storms today and tonight. The showers/ storms will likely be effective rain-producers in this moisture-laden airmass. Another cold front will move in Friday. That system looks rather potent, and some severe weather looks like a possibility. Behind that front, the weather looks great for the weekend with dry conditions and lower humidity.
