Terrific Tuesday

>> Tuesday, November 09, 2010

Marvelous weather will unfold today with a sunny sky and most Piedmont highs in the lower 70s. Excellent stuff.

As a whole, the weather the rest of the week will be very quiet and very nice. Highs from tomorrow through the weekend will be a bit cooler than yesterday and today, but we are still talking 60s for highs with lots of sun.

Our next system will not arrive until Monday and Tuesday of next week, so we should remain dry through the weekend.

Next cold shot....

I am eying the period around November 20, give or take a day or two, as the time-frame for our next blast of cold air. Look like a big plunge of cold air will begin to invade the northern Plains later on next week, and that cold air should be able to surge into our region later on toward the weekend or so.

Winter Outlook....

If you have not seen it, my 2010-2011 Winter Outlook is linked at the top of the left column, and the Winter Forecast Video is docked in the right column.

Some sites indicating wintry precip with the cold blast? Early thoughts?
Thanks

Wintry precip is possible in late November, but it is way too early for any speculation on that. We have to hit the timing of the cold blast before we can even try to figure out anything more specific.

Hey Matt,
The almanac says there could possibly be snow on Thanksgiving. I hope its true!
