The split in the rain on the radar is amazing. Not making for a happy meteorologist. Hopefully, this will fill in some later this evening as more dynamics kick into play, but the rain has done a great job of avoiding much of the western Piedmont so far....

I've noticed those interesting radar returns as well. What do you think is causing the split in precipitation?
Not completely sure as I just woke up from my nap, but it looks like all of that convection near the coast is robbing the transport of Atlantic moisture that was supposed to kick in by now.
