Thursday Evening....

>> Thursday, May 15, 2008

We will see areas of rain through the night, and some embedded storms ill be possible as well. While the rain looks to be fairly widespread, it does not look overly heavy in most spots with total rain amounts less than a half of an inch. Lows tonight will be in the lower 60s.

A cold front will sweep through Friday, and that looks to end the chances for showers and storms pretty early in the day. Highs will likely wind up in the upper 70s.

How about this....we have a dry weekend forecast! Look for a mostly sunny sky Saturday with a partly cloudy forecast for Sunday. Highs both days will be in the mid to possibly upper 70s.

A warm front will lift through Tuesday and bring us the chance of a few showers or storms, and then it looks like a big warm-up is on tap for Wednesday and Thursday with highs into the upper 80s. In fact, if current trends hold, I would not be surprised if some spots hit 90 degrees next Wednesday or Thursday!

According to the latest models, it's Hot Weather Cancel for us in the Mid Atlantic next weekend. Instead, a Rex signature across northeastern Canada and a huge cold closed low aloft in ON and W NY, record low temperatures are possible as far south as lower Appalachia and the Carolina Piedmont. Changes may occur during the medium range, but until then readings may ruin as much as 20 deg F below seasonal normals from parts of the Corn Belt into the Atlantic Coastal Plain.

Yep, you are right about the hot weather cancel. Looks like the upper air pattern will unfold quite a bit differently than I originally thought.

The high plains looks like will going to be more active on Thursday. I think severe weather will be possible with potential threat of damaging winds, hail and tornadoes based on Storm Prediction Center on Thursday event..Looking forward for what will going to happen..
