Wow! Today was just one of those amazing days we get here in the Carolinas from time to time. There was not a cloud in the sky, dewpoints were down into the 30s and 40s, and highs were in the mid 70s. Just fantastic!
Conditions will be great all evening to spend some time outdoors, and it is hard to imagine any better weather for the All-Star festivities out at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Our next cold front drops in here tomorrow and looks to bring us some showers and storms tomorrow afternoon and ending early evening. At this point, I am anticipating a line of showers and storms to sweep through pretty quickly from northwest to southeast.
A few storms could be strong to locally severe. A big impediment to severe weather chances will be a lack of instability. It looks like dewpoints will only be able to recover into the low to mid 50s ahead of the front, so instability looks to be somewhat lacking. However, the wind fields aloft are fairly strong, so if any decent storms do get going, some strong winds will be possible.
