Back to the Carolinas

I am back in the saddle today after a great weekend down at Mississippi State University. As I mentioned in the post below, it was Super Bulldog Weekend, and we beat Kentucky in the baseball series.
Aside from taking my family back to a place I love and getting to see my friends that I do not get to see nearly often enough, another highlight was eating at some of my favorite restaurants on the planet. Friday night's dinner was at the Perry Cafeteria on campus....great dinner buffett, and always a great chicken quesadilla from the grill. Saturday lunch was at the Bulldog Deli...best deli sandwiches you can find. Dinner was at The Little Dooey...our absolute favorite bar-b-que restaurant. The Little Dooey is now a franchise with a location now open in Concord. The location in Starkville is the original location, and it is still located in an old house. Sunday's lunch was at Abner's....great chicken strips, and that was always our after-church dinner spot while we were in Starkville.
It was a fun trip, but definitely a tiring one. We spent over 24 hours driving through the weekend, so it is one of those occasions where I think we are more tired now than before we left. But again, it was a good time.
As for the weather, get ready for a big cool down. In fact, I think many locations will see the mercury dip below the freezing mark Friday morning through Monday morning. The highest potential for a damaging freeze appears to be on Sunday morning and Monday morning, when mid to upper 20s are likely. You will definitely need the coat for sunrise services Easter Sunday morning!
