Matt, does it seem as if in the last few years, every thunderstorm that impacts the region is a daluge event / flood system, brining multiple inches of water over days. Why is every storm dumping 2"+ of water or more on us? Is this discussed amongst your peers?
Well, over the past year, you could possibly loosely associate it with El Nino events typically being more moisture-laden. El Nino (an area of warm water in the equatorial Pacific) tends to provide added moisture to systems across the southern US.
