MUCH cooler this weekend...

>> Friday, October 03, 2014

A cold front is approaching from the west, and as it nears, we will have the chance of scattered showers and a few storms today and this evening. The best thunderstorm potential looks to be late this afternoon and into this evening. Highs should top out in the upper 70s and lower 80s for most.

Much, much cooler air will then arrive for the weekend. Highs tomorrow will only be in the 60s for a good portion of the piedmont under a sunny sky. Some mountain spots will only have 40s for highs tomorrow, and when you add in a stiff west wind, it will have the feel of a winter day up that way.

Lows Saturday night will then head town into the 38-42 range for many in the piedmont by Sunday morning. Some mountain spots could even dip below freezing Sunday morning. Piedmont highs Sunday will again be in the 60s with a sunny sky overhead.

Highs will rebound into the 70s for next work week.

Hi Matt,
When are you thinking to release the weather outlook for the upcoming winter season for 2014-15?

I doubt I will. I just don't have the time to devote to it that is required this fall... too many irons in the fire.
