Drier air poised to arrive....

Major rain and storms along the Gulf coast significant cut off the transport of moist and unstable air up into much of the region yesterday, and the result was far few showers and storms than originally expected.

A few showers remain possible today as the cold front slides through, and a few storms will remain possible, especially in eastern NC. Then we will see drier air begin to work in, providing the region with some fantastic weekend weather.

Next week is looking pretty warm overall....
