Getting warmer...

>> Wednesday, May 26, 2010

As the area of low pressure off of the Carolina coast weakens and begins to move farther our to sea, its influence on our weather will continue to decrease. For the Piedmont, look for a dry day today with highs in the mid 80s. Along the coast, a few showers are still possible, and be aware that rip currents will continue to be an issue today as well.

Tomorrow is looking fairly hot with highs warming into the 90-93 degree range across much of the interior of the Carolinas. The day will feature lots of sunshine, but late in the day, some isolated storms will likely develop.

Friday's weather is looking unsettled. A disturbance will approach from the north, and it will arrive right in time to interact with daytime heating. So I anticipate a good coverage of showers and storms Friday, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

Saturday's forecast is tricky. It looks like a front will stall out just to our south, and if that is the case, Saturday could be a cloudy and showery kind of day. We will see.

Highs will surge back up through the 80s Sunday and Monday, and our next front will approach Tuesday and Wednesday.
