Mild Black Friday....Chilly Rain on the Way...

Above is today's edition of the Carolina Weather Video.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. In the East household, we had a nice Thanksgiving. My wife prepared a beautiful and spectacular dinner with all of the trimmings....it was really something. I am so thankful for all of the blessings God has bestowed on me. He has blessed me more than I could have ever imagined or deserved, no doubt.

So we Thanksgiving dinner, and then we began the annual routine of beginning to put out the Christmas decorations. Now, the only holiday I really go all out for in terms of decorations is Christmas. I love decorating for Christmas, and I always like to start on Thanksgiving afternoon.

This year was no exception...we got a large portion of the outdoor decorations put out yesterday afternoon. Today, after work I will watch the Egg Bowl (Mississippi State-Ole Miss football game, for those that don't know), up to the roof I will go to put the roof lights up. After that, if time allows, the inside decorating will begin. Love it.

In terms of the weather, one more relatively mild day today with highs in the lower 60s in most spots. Big changes take place by tomorrow with highs tomorrow and Sunday only in the 40s as rain chances arrive. We will see one wave of rain move through the Carolinas tomorrow, and then a second wave, probably heavier and more significant, move through Sunday. It will be chilly, but this is mainly a rain event for the Piedmont. With that said, I can't rule out a few snow flakes or sleet pellets mixed in there at some point, but that would not be a big deal...just not enough cold air around for anything big in terms of wintry weather.

As colder air invades behind the system, the mountains will likely get a pretty good thumping of snow Sunday night and Monday. A couple of snow showers are even possible in the Piedmont Monday.

It will be chilly into mid-week next week, and then a push of arctic air could move in here by next weekend. We shall see....

See my latest post....there are some interesting things occasionally showing up on the modeling, but lots will change between now and then.

As for Mt. Airy this Monday, a few show showers could spill out of the mountains, but I don't expect anything major.
