Back in the Saddle

It was very nice to get the chance to spend a few days with just my family. We got out of town for a few days and had a great time. It is so easy to get caught up in day-to-day activities that time just slips by so quickly. So, it was very refreshing to spend a few days away from email and cell phones with just my family.

I have spent this morning getting back up to speed on our weather situation, and really, it looks a lot like mid-July. Lots of heat and humidity for the forseeable future....

Today and tomorrow, I think we will probably see a pretty good amount of scattered mainly afternoon and early evening storms. The atmospheric set-up both today and tomorrow is one where some of the storms could produce some downbursts, so we will have to keep an eye on that activity over the next couple of days.

Still the chance for a few storms Sunday, especially east of Charlotte, but next work week looks primarily hot and dry. Highs edge up into the mid 90s, with afternoon storms looking pretty scarce.

The tropics are still very quiet, and I see nothing to get excited about as of yet.
