Locations off to our west and southwest are baking in oppressive levels of heat and humidity. Yesterday, Pensacola, FL hit 101. Mobile and Hattiesburg, MS hit 100. New Orleans hit 96. And most locations in the southern Plains to the Deep South will see highs today just as hot.

Meanwhile, our highs will hit the upper 80s to lower 90s, and we are getting the treat of lower than normal humidity values for the next couple of days. We will see lots of sunshine today and tomorrow as well.

Humidity levels will creep up a bit later this week and we will see lower 90s for highs Thursday through the weekend. Some scattered storms will return to the forecast Friday and then again toward the beginning of next week.
