Rain on the way

>> Thursday, March 08, 2012

Hey everybody . . . just a quick update here. Looks like a cold front moving into the region will arrive later this evening and tonight. Expect rain to move in as well. Rain looks likely across the area for tonight and into tomorrow morning before things start to clear out after that. Could see half and inch to possibly more in some of the heavier spots. Nothing severe with this system though.

After that we'll clear out for a cool but dry weekend.

Hope you're having a good week. I'll get in here with a more detailed look at the upcoming weekend tomorrow.

Monday: Some wintry weather

>> Monday, March 05, 2012

Hey everybody ... in for Matt today and this week as he is taking some time off for his 10th wedding anniversary. Congrats to him and his wife!!! I may not be in here everyday since the pattern looks pretty benign but will make some updates every now and then.

Today the issue is the potential for a little wintry weather. A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of the area, but mainly only the higher elevations. Snow has been falling this morning around the region already. The advisory is only in effect for the mountains of NC though. These spots could see 1-3 inches of snow with isolated higher totals. The rest of you however will be looking at temps warming above freezing and thus just rainfall. Be careful though in the higher elevations where difficult travel will be developing.

After that some chilly conditions will linger for a day or so before things start to warm up later in the week. It looks like some really nice weather over the next couple of days.
