Quiet Weekend Continuing

>> Saturday, April 28, 2007

All is quiet on the weather fromt tonight, and the quiet weather will continue for the next few days. Sunday will be delightful with lots of sun and highs close to 80....enjoy!

It will get warmer and muggier as the first half of the work week unfolds with highs well up into the 80s and increasing dewpoints and humidity values. It looks like a back-door cold front and some wedging will set up by Thursday and Friday, cooling us back down into the 70s for highs and bringing in at least some shower chances for Friday and Saturday.

It has been a busy week this week for me. Last Saturday, we celebrated my oldest daughter's 4th birthday...the weather was perfect, and everyone had a great time. Wednesday of this week, I was down in Columbia, South Carolina with one of our photographers, Justin Castille, filming some stuff for a package we are putting together for hurricane season. Thursday featured a threat for severe weather, and I feel like I am catching my breath a little bit here on Saturday. It has been a good week, just a busy one as well!

Watching and Waiting....

Numerous tornado watches are up off to our west this evening. A cold front will approach through the night tonight, and I anticipate scattered showers and thunderstorm chances to be with us through the night. While a couple of storms could be locally strong to severe, the main dynamics with this system will likely pull off to our north, likely keeping severe weather chances in check.

Keep it tuned to News 14 Carolina, and we will keep you up to date....

Sunday Evening...

>> Sunday, April 22, 2007

The weather was great this weekend...lots of sun and warm afternoons. The warmth will really stay with us for much of this week. We will see a chance for some scattered showers and storms Tuesday, then better shower and storm chances Thursday. As the late-week cold front decays overhead, I will maintain the chance for some showers or storms Friday.

Yesterday was Jayden's 4th birthday party. She had two of her friends from school over for a while in the morning, and then time was spent with family for the rest of the day. It really was a great time. Most importantly, Jayden seemed to have a blast! Grandma and Grandpa (as the kids call them) made the road trip in from several states away...they didn't get to our house until about midnight Friday night, and they left about 9am this morning. Short trip and turn-around...that is what grandparents are made of.

So, we now have a 4 year-old, a 2 year-old, and an almost 6 month old. Wow. We were thinking back a couple of days ago to the days leading up to Jayden's birth...time REALLY flies....too quickly. It is far too easy to get caught up in the daily routine and not appreciate every moment as it comes.

Take some time to slow down, enjoy your family and friends, and just enjoy life. The tragic events of last week are a stark reminder that every moment is precious....every moment a gift from God.

My thoughs and prayers continue with the family and friends of Melissa Greer. Please see my post below.
