Beautiful Weekend Weather...

>> Friday, October 31, 2008

Above is today's edition of the Carolina Weather Video.

Milder weather is arriving, and highs today will be in the upper 60s in many spots....low to mid 70s for tomorrow.

For the trick-or-treaters this evening, no problems at all with a clear sky and temps slipping into the 50s. Lots of sun will be with us all weekend.

A big trough looks to swing in here toward the end of next week and bring some rain chances followed by a turn back to colder temps. See the video above for details. I think much of mid-November could be pretty chilly.

At the top of the page it my brand new Winter Outlook Video....lots of folks have been asking about my ideas for the upcoming Winter, and there they are as of now.

Matthew,

What kind of weather was going on in the 2004 snow storm? Was it La Nina or El Nino or nothing??

From a quick look, it looks like it was a weak El Nino occurring in February 2004.

matthew,

just looked at some of the models from nws and correct me if im wrong but it looks like this next shot of colder air is gonna be a 1-2 punch. to me at least, it looks like a nice blast of cold air coming down and dropping us back below normal, followed by a reinforcing shot of even colder air behind that. what are your thoughts on this?

thanks ANON
