Kenny's discussion...

Showers and thunderstorms are likely today ahead the advancing cold front responsible for yesterdays severe weather outbreak across the deep south.  While I don't expect a widespread outbreak of severe weather like we've seen over the past few days, an isolated severe thunderstorm with heavy rain and damaging winds can't be ruled out.  Highs today should climb into the lower 70s. Look for shower chances to linger into the evening hours before the cold front passes through the area.  Cloud cover will keep temperatures on the mild side with lows overnight dropping into the mid 50s.  The good news is, once this front passes through the region, a ridge of high pressure builds in across the south which has all the makings for a beautiful weekend.  I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend.
