Scattered storms return to the forecast today after a hot and mainly dry Thursday. A few storms could be severe today. Damaging winds will be the biggest threat with some hail potential too.



For the final weekend in July, look for highs in the low and mid 90s with a few afternoon storms remaining possible.

Next week is looking unsettled with good daily storm chances Monday onward. Highs will ease down a bit as well due to more clouds and storms.

Showers and storms.....

A frontal boundary is dropping into the region today, and it will stall out through the weekend. This will mean a good coverage of showers and storms over the next few days.

Some storms will produce damaging winds, and any storm could also produce locally heavy rain and lots of lightning.

Hot and humid..... better storm chances ahead...

Another hot day today across the region with highs in the mid 90s. Heat index values will likely meet or exceed 100 at this this afternoon. A few storms will also fire with the daytime heating.

A cold front will begin to near the region tomorrow and increase the coverage of showers and storms. Friday looks pretty unsettled as the front actually moves through.

Over the weekend, the front will stall out just to our south. Highs will be in the 80s, but with the close proximity of the front, the chance of some showers and storms needs to be maintained.
