Another foggy start....but milder today

>> Friday, December 19, 2008

Very thick fog again this morning. However, we should see some peeks of sunshine later today, and that will allow for highs to top out in the upper 60s to lower 70s for most.

The timing is a bit in question, but it still looks like our rain chance will arrive later tomorrow afternoon or tomorrow evening. The rain should end by midday Sunday.

A big blast of cold air will then settle in for Monday and Tuesday with highs struggling to make it into the lower 40s and lows well down into the 20s. In fact, I think some spots could see upper teens Tuesday morning.

The timing has slowed a bit, but I still think we will see rain chances later Christmas Eve into Christmas Eve night, but for the time being, Christmas day still looks dry.

The blog will probably be pretty quiet through the weekend. We are making a quick run out of town, but I will be back here to work my regular early morning shift Monday.

Above is today's edition of the Carolina Weather Video....in it, we look at our current weather, the weekend storm system, and the weather for Christmas!

Pea soup fog this morning across much of the region. That fog will slowly erode with time today, but we will still have lots of clouds today and tonight.

I do think we will see some peeks of sunshine tomorrow, and that should allow for highs to warm into the upper 60s to lower 70s for most Piedmont locations.

It still looks like we will have a rain chance from Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning, and then arctic air drills into our area behind that system and takes hold by Monday.

Some rain showers are a possibility Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day looks sunny and relatively chilly.

On another note, today we will be taking the kids for our annual trip to visit Santa. The kids are very excited...should be fun. They are all very aware that is is 7 days till Christmas....they each have their own 'countdown' item they do each day at home.

This will be our last Christmas with only three little Eastlets running around. We are expecting our fourth child at the end of March. Exciting times!
