Just made a quick run to the store, and man does it feel cold out there. 5pm temps are in the 30s with wind chills in the Piedmont in the 20s. Up at Jefferson, in the mountains, the wind chill is currently 4 degrees.
Going to be very cold tonight....for the Piedmont, look for lots of lows in the upper teens. By all means, bring the pets indoors, and you probably want to protect your outdoor exposed faucets and pipes. This is a very cold night even in January.
Bundle up, throw another log on the fire, and enjoy your weekend!
Snowy start to Friday for some....

Snow fell this morning in the Triad over to Raleigh-Durham...and the northern portions of the Charlotte region saw some flakes as well.
The big story now becomes a significant blast of arctic air. Highs temps will struggle into the low to mid 40s today, and then I expect upper teens to lower 20s tonight.
