Some big storms have been firing in portions of the Triad and Triangle viewing area. However, for the Charlotte region, it has simply been a hot and humid day. Most folks were in the lower 90s for highs.

As the evening unfolds, I will continue to mention the chance of some scattered showers and storms.

A disturbance will move through tomorrow and likely bring a round of showers and storms tomorrow afternoon and evening.

And, Tropical Storm Arthur formed midday today as it moved ashore in Central America. It will not impact the US.

Saturday...

We have a chance of scattered showers and storms later today and this evening....same story tomorrow. The storms could be locally strong to severe, with damaging winds and some hail being possible. Also, any storms that form could produce prolific lightning.

The models are really at a loss for exactly how things will play out today and tomorrow (some keeping the western Carolinas completely dry), so I will just continue to ride with the forecast that I have gone with up until now...scattered showers and storms.

I will be in the weather office this afternoon, and we will see how things are looking then...

Friday evening....

A little short on time this evening, so this will be brief.

Mild, muggy weather has settled in. Scattered showers and storms are on tap for tomorrow, and some storms could produce some damaging winds and small hail. Also, it looks like any storm that develop will be fairly effective lightning producers.

More scattered showers and storms are possible Sunday.

The pattern next week continues to look summer-like with lots of highs well up into the 80s (even some lower 90s), lows in the 60s, muggy conditions, and some scattered PM storms at times.
