November gets off to a mild start

>> Wednesday, November 01, 2017

October is in the books, and all totaled up, temperatures in many Carolina locations ran around 3 degrees above average. Precipitation amounts varied, but in general, many areas were pretty close to average October precipitation amounts.

Highs will run a bit above average around the region through Friday with lots of piedmont highs in the 70s.

A cold front will approach late Friday, and some showers are possible in the mountains Friday afternoon and evening. High pressure will wedge down the Eastern Seaboard behind that front, and Saturday could be a cooler, cloudy day for many in the region as we wedge sets up.

That wedge will then erode, and above average temperatures will resume for early next week.
