Not as cold today... cold air damming events ahead...

>> Monday, February 18, 2013

After the frigid start to the day, highs will warm to the ballpark of average with lots of sun today.

Our next system will swing in late tonight into tomorrow morning. For the mountains, this will be a quick show of some snow, ending as some mixed precip.

Temps in the northern foothills could dip near or just below freezing as the precip arrives late tonight. That means a very brief period of freezing rain will be possible. However, I think fairly quickly temps will get above freezing, so at the moment, I don't anticipate big freezing rain issues.

Another system will arrive Thursday night and Friday, and again, we will need to monitor temps as the precip rolls in, as we will ave a nice cold air damming setup in place. At the moment though, I am leaning toward rain for most.
