More beautiful weather...

>> Friday, May 11, 2012

Fantastic weather will continue today and tomorrow with lots of sun, low humidity, and highs in the 70s. Enjoy!

The timing has quickened just a bit with our next storm system, and I have gone ahead and caved and thrown in some shower chances by Sunday afternoon.

At this point, Monday looks wet with rain at times as well as a few storms, and I still think Tuesday features good shower and storm chances.

See today's video for lots of more detailed information:

Fantastic weather!

Above is the storm report map from yesterday....notice the clustering of wind damage reports in central NC.

After a rainy, occasionally stormy, day yesterday, a much drier airmass has not taken hold. After a refreshing morning out there with temps in the 40s and 50s, highs today will head up into the 70s with plentiful sun. Lows tonight will be in the 40s for most.

The weather will stay nice through at least Saturday, and I am still trying to keep rain out of the Mother's Day forecast. However, by Monday, and inverted trough and/ or low pressure near the Gulf coast will be close enough to us to spread in shower and storm chances.

The modeling differs on how long next week the shower and storm chances remain, but I think at least into Wednesday, some chances will exist.

Showers and storms today....beautiful tomorrow...

Here is today's edition of the Carolina Weather Video:

More unsettled weather is on tap today as a cold front pushes into the region. Look for showers and storms at times. Like occurred up in Surry and Rockingham counties last night, some localized flash flooding problems could materialize today.

Some strong to severe storms are also possible, although the threat is somewhat limited.

Beautiful weather is on tap tomorrow into the Mother's Day weekend with lots of sunshine and low humidity. Highs tomorrow and Friday will be in the 70s with highs near 80 Saturday and likely 70s Sunday.

Monday and Tuesday next week look unsettled again as a slow-moving low approaches.

Scattered showers and storms...

>> Tuesday, May 08, 2012

The radar this morning shows showers in the mountains down into the Upstate of SC, and as the day unfold, scattered showers and storms will continue to develop eastward. So, as you head out to the polls today, be aware that some scattered showers and storms will be around this afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the 70s for most.

A cold front will move through tomorrow, and good shower and storm chances will accompany it once east of the mountains. Some severe storms are possible with the best chances being near and east/ south of I-85 over to the coast.

Beautiful weather is still on tap Thursday into the weekend.

Mid-week cold front...

Here is today's edition of the Carolina weather video....

Pretty quiet weather today with a partly sunny sky and highs in the upper 70s....maybe a few lower 80s. An isolated shower or two is possible today with the best rain chances being in the mountains and foothills.

As a cold front inches closer, the chance of a few showers and storms increases a bit tomorrow, but Wednesday is looking like the main unsettled weather day. That's the day the front actually slides through the region, and we should have good shower and storm chances accompany it.

Behind that front, some fantastic weather is on tap Thursday into the weekend with lots of sun, 70s for highs, and 40s for lows.
