CLT rain

Heavy rain fell over western Mecklenburg county this afternoon. In fact, the Charlotte airport has gottn over 2.5" of rain this afternoon. That is enough so that now, for the month, the airport is well over 3 inches above average rainfall, and the deficit for the year is now under 6 inches. Impressive, since at the start of the day, the rainfall deficit was over 8.5"....

Raleigh-Durham received over .76" of rain today and now has a precip surplus for the year with more to come!

Hi Matthew where is the Rain? It has not rain in South Charlotte in over 6hours .Is the rain done for tonight or are we going to get more rain in Charlotte.

Now Raleigh-Durham has had its wettest June in recorded history with much more to come in the next five days. Thru 5pm today, RDU has had 9.54 inches for the month.

...RECORD DAILY MAXIMUM RAINFALL SET AT CHARLOTTE...

A RECORD RAINFALL OF 2.76 INCHES WAS SET AT THE CHARLOTTE-DOUGLAS
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT YESTERDAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 1.44 INCHES
SET IN 1894 AND TIED IN 2004.
