I simply have to temper my expectations now it seems. It's funny because I don't remember winters this way when I was a kid. In the 80s/early 90s, it seemed like it snowed at least 2 times a year/measurable amounts. Now we haven't had a really major snow in Charlotte in about 7 years (I don't count last years 2.5 inch events; if it doesn't completely cover the grass, it's not a real event!!:)). Maybe it's global warming, I don't know.

Realistically I'm just going to start finding something else to do in the winter and if I want snow, I'll go visit blowing rock! No more GFS DAY 7-10 examinations!! If it snows, geat...it'll just be a wonderful surprise.

BradAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29448946.post-62255445914593530232010-12-07T13:13:28.470-05:002010-12-07T13:13:28.470-05:00It's not going to snow. This is very discouraging and I hope the model is wrong.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29448946.post-82179763730306234692010-12-06T16:36:27.641-05:002010-12-06T16:36:27.641-05:00I think it's going to be cold up until Christm...I think it's going to be cold up until Christmas. The issue is whether we can actually get a system to pass to our south so that we are on the cold side of the storm. Otherwise we'll be really cold and dry before we warm up a little in order to get a boring rainstorm.

There look to be three potential systems in the offing: this coming weekend, sometime around the 19th, and then the storm you're referring to on the 22nd. They could all be huge snowstorms, or they might be nothing but rain. It's still too early to speculate, but I like the cold weather pattern part of the forecast.Jonathan (Hickory, NC)noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29448946.post-1087175677665284922010-12-06T13:43:55.109-05:002010-12-06T13:43:55.109-05:00Hey Guys!

Could we finally get a white Christmas? I know its far out and speculating, but what are your thoughts?
~BrandonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
