Sunny today... some light precip tomorrow, then cold through mid-week period...

After some rain at times yesterday, we are back to sunshine for our Monday. But it will be a chilly day with many highs 10-15 degrees below average across the region.

An area of low pressure will gradually organize in the Gulf by this evening and then lift up off the Carolina coast tomorrow. The system is not going to take a track, or be at an intensity while it's near here, to give heavy precip to the region. However, many spots will have some light precip at times tomorrow.

Tomorrow morning, roughly along and to the north and west of I-85, some of that light precip will likely be in the form of some light snow. It's possible some areas could see a quick dusting on some elevated surfaces, but it just doesn't look like there will be enough precipitation to be a big deal.

This low pressure will bomb out and turn into a monster low off of the Northeast coast and through the Canadian Maritimes. See the video for more on this.

Following the system, a significant plunge of cold air arrives with temps well down into the 20s Wednesday morning and highs in the 40s Wednesday afternoon in spite of sunshine.

Temps will then gradually modify late in the work week.
