Warmer weather...

Here's today's video:

Warmer weather is returning to the region.... highs today well into the 70s and highs topping 80 in many spots tomorrow and Thursday.

A big-time Spring storm system will gear up in the Plains tomorrow. A significant risk of severe weather exists for Oklahoma and surrounding areas by later tomorrow, and that threat then shifts eastward Thursday.

The system will roll into the Carolinas Friday and bring a round of showers and storms. The dynamics will be pulling away to the north, and instability will probably be fairly limited. However, the severe weather potential needs to be watched.

Much cooler air flows in here for the weekend with lots of 60s for highs. Some 30s still looks possible for lows in some areas by Sunday and Monday morning.

This is the 2 year anniversary of the big April 16 tornado outbreak. 30 confirmed tornadoes occurred in NC that day, and that is the record for a one-day total.
