Cool, showery conditions...

It was a very wet night in parts of the area....especially around the Charlotte metro. As of 5:30am, some areas were approaching 3" of rain since yesterday evening.

A slow-moving low pressure area continues to impact the region. While it will not rain all day, there will be showers and embedded storms at times for especially the I-85 corridor on up through the foothills and mountains.

This low pressure area will be very slow to pull away from the region. Tomorrow will likely still feature a lot of clouds and some scattered showers. However, a big-time warm-up is on the way with highs by this weekend warming up into the mid to upper 80s.

Some spots might even clip 90 by early next week....
