Very chilly temps to start the day today. A Frost Advisory was hoisted to much of the North Carolina mountains, and in fact, a few of the more protected valleys briefly dipped below the freezing mark.

Excellent weather will continue all weekend with lots of sun, comfortable afternoons, and fairly chilly morning. The weather will also be excellent in the mountains if you want to head up there and check out some of the early season fall foliage.

See the video for a more detailed look at the next 10 days or so as well as fall foliage.

Fantastic Autumn weather has settled in. See the Carolina Weather Video below for a look at the early season fall foliage in the Carolinas as well as the normal look at our weather.

Lows were in the 40s in the Piedmont this morning while some higher elevations in the mountains dipped into the 30s. We will see brilliant sunshine all day with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Tonight, and probably tomorrow night, we will drop into the 40s again.

The forecast will remain dry through the next seven days with highs mainly in the 70s and lows after Saturday morning in the low to mid 50s.

**No videos today**

A cold front is approaching our area, and I expect at least a few showers and storms out there this afternoon and this evening. In fact, an upper level disturbance out ahead of the cold front kicked off some rain in the southern Piedmont this morning.

While the chance if small, I can't rule out one or two strong to severe storms this afternoon or evening.

Cooler air flows in tomorrow, and we will get to enjoy fantastic Autumn weather for the rest of the week. Highs will only be around 70 Thursday and Friday with morning lows those days in the mid to upper 40s!

Above it today's edition of the Carolina Weather Video....

Warm temps will unfold today and tomorrow across the Carolinas with highs in the Piedmont in the lower 80s. A cold front is moving our way, and that front will likely kick off a few showers or storms later tomorrow and tomorrow night.

Behind the front, a nice push of cool, Autumn air will arrive for Wednesday through the weekend. Highs most days will be in the lower 70s with some lows dipping into the mid to upper 40s by the end of the work week. See the video above for details.

Subtropical Storm Laura has formed in the north Atlantic. Laura will get picked up by the big trough moving into the eastern US and turned northward over the north Atlantic...not threatening the US. Below is today's Tropical Weather Video.
